• Communication Associates Inc. offers two families of thermal attenuators / pads. These are attenuators / pads which adjust their amount of attenuation as temperature changes. This is useful for compensating system level errors in some cases.

"A" Family: This family has the less aggressive change, 0.008dB/°C. Offered in 1 - 10dB, and 1.5dB versions.

"B" Family: This family has the most aggressive change, 0.023dB/°C. Offered in 1 - 15dB versions.

Notes:
1. Return Loss (S11) is worst case over temperature range -20ºC to +80ºC.

2. Insertion loss (S21) Specification tolerance at given temperature:
    5-200  MHz: +/- 0.20 dB ± 2șC
    862 MHz: +/- 0.30 dB ± 2șC
3. "B" Family. Tilt at +80șC at 862 MHz is -0.20 dB max.
4. Power dissipation is 0.125W RMS max.
5. Body material is polypropylene. Electrical contact pins are gold plated brass.
6. Characteristic impedance for this series is 75 Ohms.
7. Center pin is ground, outside pins are RF in/out (Bidirectional).
